Hobbies!

This page is intended to contextualize my diary entries.

This is supposed to be my culminating life project about six girls based off of my bifurcations of my dreams/ hobbies, the theme is mostly post-apolocalyptic, dreams, loneliness and futility. This is mostly in a drawing and brainstorming stage. When talking about it I usually joke about how the story is about six femcels and the protagonist is gay and travels around and tries to keep them company and listen to their progress on their dreams/ projects.

Coming soon: adding drawings here and brainstorming

My work directly involves physics but I failed a lot of my classes as a student and just passed along until I graduated. This has resulted in an impossible feeling of imposter syndrome. In spite of that, I do want to (re)learn physics, just for fun! I fantasize about being able to solve Schrödinger equations.. So, one of my life goals is to just take my time to learn math and undergraduate physics; maybe if I get far along with it, graduate physics, by self study and textbooks. While I am inspired by the MIT Challenge, or whatever, my approach is more easygoing where I do like one problem a day. I hope that this hobby will raise my confidence and help me overcome the memorization fatigue that I have from language learning. Currently just in in the Learning Math stage -- my current goal is to learn linear algebra and multivariable calculus.

I love philosophy, this is something else I chose to study, and I think of all the things in life, philosophy saved me. I will probably reveal more of my tumultuous childhood in my diaries, but philosophy served to be my beacon of light throughout all of that all, providing hope, nourishing my curiosity and love of wisdom that made me intensely love learning anything and everying. teaching me how to use my voice, argue, and make sense of the world around me when I was once so, so debilitating shy. BUT I always struggled to read a lot of philosophy, so a lot of my knowledge is patchy. Now that I have more free time to revisit philosophy, I just want to read as many primary texts as I can, Currently reading: Phenomenology of Spirit, and maybe write essays about topics I enjoy. I come from a western analytic background, but hope to read more continental and Eastern philosophy.

I am a bit crazy about languages, I study Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean. I can write more about this later on, but this started because I watched A LOT OF ANIME when I was a child, so I wanted to make that productive, but learning kanji led to hanzi and so on. My only hobby is Anki. Sometimes I dabble in other languages. I have a hard time reading literature, but find learning the language helps bridge the gap. Most of the literature I read will, be, in these languages, and I will just summarize what I read on the daily; because I am reading in a second language, I am probably getting things wrong but hope the diaries are still interesting to read
